President’s Message

Ashish Banerjee (LL.B 1979 - 1981)

It gives me immense pleasure to address the members of the Burdwan University Law Alumni Association (BULAA). Since its founding in 2012, the Association has remained committed to strengthening the enduring bond among alumni and preserving the proud legacy of the University of Burdwan’s Law Department.

The Law Department has produced generations of legal professionals who have made significant contributions to the judiciary, the Bar, academia, public service, and society at large. BULAA was formed to unite these diverse experiences and channel them toward collective growth, mutual support, and institutional development. Our alumni community stands as a testament to the values of discipline, integrity, and a commitment to justice that our revered teachers imparted.

As President, I firmly believe that an active and engaged alumni body plays a vital role in shaping the future of any academic institution. Through mentorship, academic collaboration, alumni reunions, and community-oriented initiatives, BULAA strives to foster meaningful engagement among alumni, students, and the University. I encourage all members to participate actively in the Association’s activities and contribute their time, experience, and ideas to the betterment of our alma mater.

Together, let us continue to uphold the traditions of excellence and service, strengthen our collective identity, and carry forward the rich legacy of the University of Burdwan’s Law Department.

General Secretary’s Message

Shovan Kumar (LL.B 1990 - 1992)

I extend my warm greetings to all members of the Burdwan University Law Alumni Association (BULAA). The Association was established with the purpose of fostering unity among alumni and creating a structured platform for continued interaction, collaboration, and contribution to the Law Department and the legal fraternity.

Over the years, BULAA has steadily grown, connecting alumni from different batches and professional backgrounds. As Secretary, my focus remains on strengthening communication within the alumni network, facilitating meaningful programs, and ensuring that the Association's objectives are translated into effective action. Our initiatives aim to promote professional development, encourage student–alumni engagement, and support academic and social activities that align with the University's values.

The success of BULAA depends on the active participation and collective effort of its members. I invite all alumni to remain connected, share their achievements, support emerging legal professionals, and contribute to the Association’s initiatives. With shared commitment and cooperation, we can continue to build a strong, inclusive, and impactful alumni community.

Let us work together to ensure that the Burdwan University Law Alumni Association remains a source of pride, inspiration, and service for generations to come.

Web Administrator's Message

Arun Mishra (LL.B 2013 - 2015)

Warm greetings from the heart of our alumni community! As a proud member of the LL.B batch 2013–2015, my journey from the corridors of the Law Department to today has been shaped by countless lessons, enduring friendships, and memories that continue to inspire me every day. The values we imbibed — integrity, resilience, empathy, and a commitment to justice — have guided us in our professional paths and personal lives.

Our Association, the Burdwan University Law Alumni Association (BULAA), stands as a living tribute to the legacy of our alma mater — a legacy woven from the diligence of our faculty and the relentless pursuit of excellence by its students. BULAA was born from the collective dream of alumni wanting to stay connected, support one another, and give back to the institution that nurtured us. Over the years, this community has grown stronger — not merely as a network of professionals, but as a family bonded by shared experience and mutual respect.

In my role as Web Administrator and Head of Communication, I am deeply committed to making this platform a place where every alumnus feels welcomed, valued, and inspired to contribute — whether by sharing achievements, mentoring current students, or reigniting old connections.

To my fellow alumni from all years — your voice matters, your story matters, and your participation enriches this community. Let us continue to uphold the spirit of unity, foster enduring friendships, and together, elevate the legacy of the Burdwan University Law Department for generations to come.
